About The Biointerfaces Institute

The Biointerfaces Institute comprises 10,000 sq ft. of dedicated space operating at CL-1 and CL-2 for bacterial and mammalian work to allow rapid generation of new biologically modified surfaces and materials. Our four main instrument suites (Surface Characterization, Bioselectivity, HT Synthesis and Screening, and Biological Preparation suites) provide advanced equipment for the rapid production and detailed characterization of new materials, including: robotic synthesis and screening platforms, 3D printing and microarray production, imaging MALDI mass spectrometry, imaging and scanning X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS), and other advanced imaging systems.
